Windmill Garden Centre and Butterfly House

Windmill Garden Centre and Butterfly House offers couples one of the most unusual ceremony settings in Medicine Hat.

Inside the Butterfly House is a tropical world of lush greenery, butterflies, birds, water and warm garden atmosphere. The space has been publicly offered for special events including weddings, allowing couples to exchange vows somewhere completely different from a conventional hall.

The Butterfly House covers roughly 5,000 square feet, giving guests the feeling of stepping into a garden even when Alberta weather outside has other plans. Butterflies move through the space, fish swim below and greenery fills the background of photographs without needing to be brought in for the day.

Couples should confirm current wedding packages and guest capacity directly with the garden centre.

If weddings are currently being accepted, this is a venue where nature is not simply outside the windows. It is all around the ceremony, creating a celebration that could feel wonderfully whimsical and completely unlike anywhere else in Medicine Hat.
