We are the two women behind OpenDates, a mother-and-daughter team working from Ontario, and everything you see here we built ourselves.

We have planned weddings in our family, and we remember the hard part. Finding the venue and the vendors we loved, and then finding out whether any of them were free on the same day, meant weeks of emails and waiting, right in the middle of what should be the happiest time. We knew these wonderful venues and vendors were busy helping other couples, and we just wondered whether there was something we could do to bridge that gap: a less stressful experience for the couple, and more bookings, sooner, for the venues and vendors who deserve them.

So we built it. OpenDates is a place where venues and vendors can show their open dates, and where couples search by their date and see who is actually free. We wanted a safe, calm space for businesses to showcase what they have open, and a planning stage that feels focused and happy instead of anxious.

We are small on purpose. Mom and I write to venues and vendors across Canada, and we read every reply. I build the site and answer the questions. There is no call centre and no sales team. If you write to us, one of us writes back.

Our promise is simple. Your page is free and stays free. We never take a cut of anything. New pages a business makes go live straight away, and we look over each one. Pages we build from public information are marked unclaimed, and any business can claim, correct or remove theirs. We want this to be a real Canadian wedding community, open to every couple and every business that makes their day.
