There is a particular kind of beauty in a wide green view at the end of the day, when the course quiets down and the celebration is just getting started.
Victoria Park East Golf Club, on Victoria Road South just outside Guelph, has been part of the local community since 1974. Its 18-hole championship-length course has matured over the decades, and the club's banquet facility gives couples a setting that looks out over it.
The Fairways Room is the main banquet hall, with a panoramic view of the golf course. It accommodates up to approximately 180 guests for dinner and dancing, or up to around 260 for dinner alone.
A second space, the Victoria Room, seats up to about 50 guests and can also serve as a cocktail reception area for guests. The entire facility is climate-controlled and open year-round.
The club can also help with on-site wedding ceremonies, and the team offers referrals for decorators, photographers, DJs and musicians.
Outside caterers are not permitted, so the club looks after all of the food. Couples can choose a wedding package or build a menu à la carte, with platter, buffet, marché or plated service. The licensed bar stocks beer, liquor, liqueurs and wine, and can be set up as a host, cash or ticket bar, or a combination.
A ramp leads from the ground floor into the building and up to the second-floor banquet area.
