With Spirit Cruises, a wedding sets sail on Vancouver's inner harbour, and the city skyline, the North Shore mountains and the open water become the backdrop for every toast and every dance.

This Canadian owned company has been hosting private events on Vancouver's waters for more than 28 years. Wedding cruises depart from Bayshore West Marina in downtown Vancouver and last four hours.

Couples can hold the ceremony on board as well as the reception, or simply celebrate the reception on the water after marrying elsewhere.

The Pride of Vancouver, a wide three deck catamaran, welcomes up to 220 guests. Its main deck has a large dance floor, a DJ setup with laser lighting and a full bar, the second level holds a bright solarium dining room, and the open top deck gives a full 360 degree view of the harbour.

For a smaller wedding, the Star of Vancouver carries up to 100 guests, with large picture windows, a Captain's Lounge and bar, and a wall that slides away to open the inside to the fresh sea air. Dancing can spill across both levels.

Guests dine from a buffet, with menus such as a BC salmon buffet, and the team takes care of drinks, food and decor, adjusting the package to suit each couple.
