The campus of the University of Northern British Columbia is known for its striking wood architecture, large atriums and skylights that fill the buildings with natural light, with views of mountains and surrounding forest just beyond.
Through its Conference and Event Services team, UNBC welcomes couples for wedding ceremonies, receptions and photos at its Prince George campus, and hosts weddings in every season of the year.
The Charles J. McCaffray Hall Atrium offers high ceilings and natural light, making it suited to an impressive ceremony or reception.
The Bentley Centre is another popular choice, with garden views and big, bright windows. It is a versatile space that leaves room for couples to be creative with their set-up and decor.
Outdoors, the Agora Courtyard and the David Douglas Botanical Garden provide settings for photographs, and couples can add other campus buildings and outdoor areas for photo sessions.
An experienced event coordinator helps with the menu, set-up and other details, and menus are customized by UNBC's executive chef. Gift, cake, DJ, registration and head tables with linens are included, along with a secured storage area for decorations.
Couples also have access to their space the day before the event for rehearsal and decorating, and signs are placed at the main entrances to the university buildings to guide guests. From May to August, on-campus guest accommodation can also be reserved through the events team.
For couples who want natural light, northern landscapes and a team that handles the details, UNBC offers a wedding setting that is both distinctive and practical.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
