About
Tiffin Centre for Conservation

Some wedding venues give couples a beautiful room. Tiffin Centre for Conservation gives them an entire forest.

Spread across approximately 120 hectares in Simcoe County, Tiffin surrounds weddings with maple and pine forest, ponds, streams, wetlands, boardwalks and open meadows. It feels wonderfully removed from everyday life even though Barrie is only a short drive away.

Couples can choose among several outdoor ceremony settings rather than being tied to one predetermined backdrop. Vows can happen beneath a canopy of maple trees, beside a peaceful pond or in another quiet corner of the conservation property.

One particularly beautiful possibility is Baby Bear Pond, where couples can marry over the water with guests gathered nearby.

And because outdoor weddings always come with one unpredictable guest called the weather, the property includes thoughtful alternatives. The rustic Outdoor Classroom sits along a covered boardwalk and can provide shelter if rain arrives, while an indoor ceremony can also be held in the Great Room.

Receptions take place in the John L. Jose Building, where the Great Room accommodates up to approximately 100 guests. Wood-beamed ceilings and a dramatic two-storey stone fireplace give the room warmth and character, while large windows and the surrounding forest mean the celebration never feels completely separated from nature outside.

The venue operates year-round, so the atmosphere can change completely depending on the season. Spring and summer bring lush green forest, autumn surrounds the property with changing leaves, and winter turns the landscape into something quieter and wonderfully romantic.

Tiffin also books only one wedding per weekend. Couples receive access around the wedding day rather than being hurried through a short rental window, giving them time to make the celebration their own.

For couples who picture walking through the woods toward their ceremony, photographs beside the water and dinner beneath timber beams while the forest grows dark outside, Tiffin Centre for Conservation offers something beautifully difficult to imitate.

We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
