About
The Slit Barn

At The Slit Barn, a wedding takes place inside a 170-year-old barn where weathered beams and warm light make every photo feel timeless.

This historic barn in Cambridge has been lovingly restored, keeping its rustic bones while adding comforts for a modern celebration.

The barn seats up to 125 guests for dinner or hosts 145 for a cocktail-style reception, with indoor and outdoor spaces for both the ceremony and the party.

A ready room opens in the morning with tables, chairs and mirrors, its own washrooms and a kitchen with a fridge, so the wedding party can get ready on site. Accessible washrooms are available for guests.

Catering comes from the venue's preferred caterers, with customizable menus that include dietary and kid-friendly options, and couples may bring their own food for cocktail hour and late night. A list of trusted local vendors makes planning easier, and vehicles can stay overnight and be collected the next morning.

For couples who picture a rustic barn reception with a long, laughter-filled dinner, The Slit Barn offers a wedding with real history in every beam.
