The Lower Deck Tap Room

At The Lower Deck, a wedding happens under exposed wooden beams in a historic waterfront building where Halifax has gathered for music and good company since 1974.

The Tap Room sits on the third floor, above the pub that first opened its doors on the Halifax waterfront half a century ago. The room has a warm, timeless feel and is set aside for private functions.

It welcomes groups from about 20 to 200 people, and has hosted ceremonies, sit down dinners, stand up receptions and plenty of weddings. Menus range from a relaxed cocktail reception to a three course dinner, all prepared by the in house kitchen.

The room comes with its own private bar and bartenders, along with linens, glassware and dinnerware. Each couple works with a dedicated event coordinator who helps with the planning from start to finish.

Downstairs, the pub carries on its tradition of live local music, so the party can easily continue after the reception.
