About
The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts

Imagine a celebration framed by two storeys of glass, with Lake Ontario stretching out beyond the windows as the evening light changes.

The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts is Queen's University's 90,000 square foot performing arts centre in Kingston. Alongside concerts and screenings, the Isabel welcomes weddings, galas and receptions.

Weddings centre on the Alexander Murray Jeffery Grand Lobby, an open gathering space surrounded on two sides by two-storey windows with a panoramic view of Lake Ontario. It has hosted balls, receptions and dinners in a wide variety of formats, and its capacity varies with the set-up.

The Lobby includes a built-in bar and a connecting patio that can be licensed, giving guests a place to step outside with a drink and enjoy the lake air.

The building offers other spaces with their own character. The Principal Emerita Karen Hitchcock Recital Hall has high-standard acoustics and lake views, and the Art and Media Lab can host receptions and seated lunches or dinners for up to around 60 people.

For couples who love music, the Jennifer Velva Bernstein Performance Hall seats 567 and is known for its fine-tuned acoustics, while the 92-seat Gordon Vogt Film Screening Room could be a memorable place to share a film or slideshow.

Lobby bookings for weddings and galas are handled by Queen's Event Services.

For couples drawn to architecture, music and a sweeping view of the water, the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts offers a striking and cultured setting for a Kingston celebration.
