Some wedding venues ask you to imagine the setting. At The Heights, the hillside is already there, waiting for chairs and an aisle.
The Heights Ski & Country Club sits on Horseshoe Valley Road West, about an hour north of Toronto. The club hosts many kinds of events, but its team says it truly loves weddings, and a wedding specialist helps couples plan every step.
Most ceremonies take place on the club's hillside. The setup includes white folding chairs, a signing table, power for a DJ or performers and a water station on very hot days. If the weather turns, the ceremony moves inside to the clubhouse, usually in front of the fireplace.
Receptions are held in the Main Room and Pub area, which come with a full-service bar, tables, chairs and staging for entertainment or a head table. The club's wedding booklet includes a sample floor plan for 168 guests, and with only one banquet room, The Heights promises its full attention to one wedding at a time.
Catering comes from the club. Most weddings include hors d'oeuvres, a three-course meal or buffet and a late-night station, and the team builds a customized package for each couple.
The practical side is well considered. Staff dress and set the tables and place décor ahead of the day, an event coordinator is on site from setup to teardown, and there is a holding room on the lower level where the wedding party can relax before the ceremony.
Guests can leave their cars in the parking lot overnight and collect them the next day, a thoughtful touch for a celebration in the countryside.
For couples who want a hillside ceremony, a warm clubhouse reception and a team that takes care of the details, The Heights offers a wedding day that feels easy from beginning to end.
