About
The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland

Where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet, there is a sense of arrival that has drawn people together for a very long time.

The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland sits on 40 acres just outside downtown Calgary, between East Village and Inglewood. The site is home to the replica 1888 Fort Calgary Barracks and sweeping views of the rivers and city skyline.

Couples can exchange vows at the confluence of the rivers or looking out at the skyline, and can host the ceremony, the reception or both on site.

The Upper Barracks brings the downtown skyline into the celebration, with a parlour-style bar and room for a dance floor. It can host approximately 168 seated guests or 225 standing.

The Lower Barracks offers large windows over the parkland and a large outdoor patio, making it well suited to ceremonies and cocktail receptions. It seats about 120, or around 210 standing, and opening onto the patio allows for a larger standing gathering.

An inclusive food and beverage package covers a welcome prosecco, an appetizer station, a buffet dinner and a late-night charcuterie board, along with bartender and service staff. Reception packages include banquet tables and chairs, furniture setup and takedown, bridal suite access and a venue host.

Nearby spots such as St. Patrick's Island, the Calgary RiverWalk and Confluence View Point offer easy places for photographs.

For couples who want history, river views and the city skyline woven into one day, The Confluence offers a celebration rooted in a place of real significance.
