There is something special about celebrating inside a building with a long story, where limestone, big windows and the lake all play a part in the day.
The Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning is housed in the J.K. Tett Centre heritage building in Kingston. A not-for-profit arts centre, it welcomes private parties, weddings and celebrations across four multi-use rental spaces, with a portion of every rental supporting its community arts programming.
The Malting Tower is the centre's finest rental space, balancing historical charm with modern features. Framed by large windows and lake views, the 1,600 square foot room has a gas fireplace, a beautifully finished floor and a built-in sound system. It can accommodate approximately 100 guests seated at round tables, 120 theatre style or 150 for a standing reception.
A fully equipped server kitchen, coat room, tables and upholstered chairs are part of the Malting Tower, and furniture setup and takedown are included.
The Rehearsal Hall offers a different mood, with exposed limestone walls, 12-foot ceilings, natural light and a Steinway piano. It suits around 60 guests at tables or 80 for a standing reception.
For smaller gatherings, the Tett Gallery welcomes about 40 guests at tables or 60 standing, and the Activity Room about 20 at tables or 30 standing. A folding wall between them can be opened to create one larger space.
Couples bring in a licensed caterer of their choice, with a preferred caterers list available to help. Security staff are required when alcohol is served, and Tett staff and technicians can be booked for the event.
For couples who love the idea of a lakeside heritage setting with an artistic heart, the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning offers light-filled rooms full of character and a celebration that supports local arts.
