The St. James Cathedral Centre Event Venue sits at the southeast corner of Adelaide and Church, just north of St. James Cathedral and overlooking St. James Park. Its building first opened in 1910 and was restored and reopened in 2012 as a modern, light-filled event space.
Snell Hall is the main room, about 3,120 square feet with a capacity of 280. It can be set with round tables for around 120 guests or theatre-style for about 240, and it can be divided into two spaces for smaller gatherings. A baby grand piano is available in the hall.
Couples have held both ceremony and reception in Snell Hall, with the room transformed for dinner and dancing afterward. Civil ceremonies can take place at the venue alongside a reception, and the Library can be set for a ceremony of about 40.
The Community Room, with capacity for about 125, and the Library add space for cocktails or quieter moments.
Catering comes from a roster of preferred Toronto caterers who know the venue well and can help with rentals, staffing, decor and more. The venue is not licensed, so alcohol is served under a Special Occasion Permit, and there is no corkage fee.
St. James Park and the cathedral grounds offer beautiful settings for photographs, mixing historic and modern architecture with urban green space.
