A wedding at Spectacle Lake Lodge feels like a lakeside weekend with the people you love, with the water in view from the event room and a campfire on the beach once the sun goes down.
The year-round lodge sits on Spectacle Lake near Barry's Bay in the Madawaska Valley, within reach of Algonquin Park. Since January 2026 it has been owned and run by a local family who are steadily renewing the property.
The lodge hosts weddings for 20 to 120 guests. The Terrace event room overlooks the lake and seats up to 50 for smaller celebrations, rehearsal dinners or a cocktail reception.
The lodge restaurant cooks fresh seasonal menus inspired by the region, with gluten-free and vegetarian options, house-made desserts and locally roasted coffee. Guests can relax in the lounge, the sunroom or on the licensed patio above the water.
Guests can stay right on site in 15 lodge rooms and lakeside cabins, all with fireplaces and decks facing the lake or grounds. Several cabins have full kitchens and their own campfire pits.
There is plenty to fill the days around the wedding: a private sandy beach, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards, fishing, lawn games and 50 kilometres of trails. In winter, snowshoeing and snowmobiling start at the door.
Evenings end at the community campfire on the beach, where the clear night sky draws stargazers from across the country.
For couples who picture lake views, cabin fireplaces and a starry night by the fire, Spectacle Lake Lodge offers a cottage-country wedding that guests will want to stay for all weekend.
