Special Events Pavilion at Chief Jim Koe Park

At the Special Events Pavilion, a wedding unfolds in the heart of Inuvik under a soaring roof, open to the summer air of Canada's Western Arctic.

The pavilion stands in Chief Jim Koe Park, the town's central gathering place, and was built with support from Canadian Heritage. The Town of Inuvik welcomes weddings here alongside festivals, concerts and cultural celebrations.

Under the 8,500 square foot enclosure there is accessible seating for 270 guests, a 32 by 32 foot platform stage and a large convertible trailer stage, ideal for a ceremony, speeches or a first dance.

From June to September the walls come down, leaving an open-air space that is still fully covered, perfect for the long bright days of the northern summer. From October to May the pavilion is closed in with locking doors.

The park also has a covered wooden boardwalk where the summer Arctic Market is held, and the Inuvik Welcome Centre sits right beside the pavilion.
