About
Sharon Temple National Historic Site & Museum

Some places carry their history so gracefully that a wedding there feels like adding a new chapter to a very old story.

Sharon Museum and Gardens, home of the Sharon Temple National Historic Site on Leslie Street in Sharon, invites couples to let their story be framed by history.

The Sharon Temple itself is not a place of worship but a venue welcoming of all cultures and faiths. Its unusual architecture is said to resemble a three-layer wedding cake, and it can hold around 200 guests for a ceremony.

Couples can also marry outdoors, with the historic grounds, gardens and eight heritage buildings providing a backdrop for both the ceremony and the photographs.

Receptions can take place in the Temperance Hall, built in 1853 and long a gathering place for the community. It seats approximately 80 guests comfortably for dinner, includes tables and padded chairs, and has a full kitchen and accessible entry.

For a larger celebration, an outdoor tent with lighting can be added for extra seating and atmosphere on the grounds.

Wedding packages include planning assistance from a dedicated staff member, time for a one-hour rehearsal, access to the site in the week before the wedding and recommendations from a list of vendors and rental companies.

For couples who love history, gardens and a ceremony space unlike any other, Sharon Museum and Gardens offers a wedding with deep roots and a timeless sense of place.
