A wedding with Sage at The University Centre pairs mid-century architecture with ocean and mountain views on the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver.
The University Centre is a restored mid-century building designed by architects Frederick Lasserre and Arthur Erickson. Its grounds, shaped by landscape architect Cornelia Oberlander, include reflecting pools and quiet green spaces.
Couples can exchange vows on the patio or in the nearby Rose Garden, with the North Shore mountains and the Strait of Georgia as the backdrop.
For the reception, the dining room seats up to 250 guests. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out to the water and mountains, and original parquet floors and mid-century details give the room its character. Packages can use the Wall Ideas Lounge, the entire main floor or the Wall Collaboration Centre, each with patio access, or the whole venue.
Every package includes the chosen spaces, a room for getting ready, a rain plan, tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware and cutlery. Daytime, evening and full day bookings are available, with weekday and low season options.
Sage is the in-house caterer, and its culinary team builds wedding menus around local and seasonal ingredients. Each year couples who book are invited to a wedding showcase to taste the menu, tour the venue and meet the team and event partners.
For couples who picture a reception lit by ocean and mountain views in a celebrated mid-century landmark, Sage at The University Centre offers a wedding that feels polished, relaxed and distinctly West Coast.
