Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada

At the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada in Winnipeg, couples can exchange vows beneath a northern lights art installation while aircraft move along the runways outside.

The museum looks out over active runways, and inside, its galleries are filled with aircraft, some suspended overhead, along with satellites, rockets and a Wall of Canadian Inventions.

Ceremonies are a natural fit for the Founders' Observation Lounge, which has runway views and a bird's eye look down over the exhibits. The lounge also has room for a dance area, bars and food stations, so it works well for cocktail hour too.

Larger receptions and gala dinners take place on the Hangar Floor, where tables are set among an Air Canada Vickers Viscount, a Canadair CL-84 Dynavert and a CF-104 Starfighter.

The Sanford and Deborah Riley Meeting Room seats up to 165 guests, with views of the suspended aircraft and the hangar floor below. It includes tables, chairs, microphones, screens, ceiling speakers and a partition wall. On the mezzanine, the Science of Flight Zone, built around a Musketeer aircraft, can serve as a food station or cocktail area.

For the biggest celebrations, the entire museum can be booked for up to 500 guests.

Catering is arranged through the museum's preferred caterers, and its catering kitchen is equipped for every cuisine and banquet style.
