Out in the Eastern Ontario countryside, Roebuck Community Centre has long been the kind of hall where neighbours gather, dance and celebrate the moments that matter.
The centre sits near Spencerville, about 15 to 20 minutes from Brockville, Kemptville and Smiths Falls. It is a licensed community hall that welcomes weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, dances and family gatherings.
Weddings are a specialty here. The hall can host the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dance all in one place, indoors or out, so guests never need to travel between locations.
There are two halls to work with. The Upper Hall seats up to 175 guests, while the Lower Hall seats up to 100, and the lower level is also home to a cocktail lounge and a pool table. The hall describes itself as an intimate setting for anywhere from 20 to 220 guests.
The building is fully accessible, with an elevator connecting the two levels. A stage, sound system and microphone are on hand for speeches and music, along with a dance floor for later in the evening.
Outside, a yard and gardens with an arbour offer a setting for an outdoor ceremony.
Food can be handled in-house, with catering options ranging from hors d'oeuvres to hot and cold buffets and full-course dinners. A licensed bar with a server, table linens, chair cover rentals and set-up and clean-up services help bring the practical pieces together.
For couples who picture a relaxed country wedding with the ceremony, dinner and dancing all under one welcoming roof, Roebuck Community Centre offers a hall with deep community roots and plenty of room to celebrate.
