At Restaurant E18hteen, a wedding glows by candlelight behind a heritage stone façade in the heart of Ottawa's ByWard Market.
The building dates to 1867, and its stone arches and old world character have been paired with a refined, contemporary dining room. The restaurant opened in 2001 and has earned a place among the most respected kitchens in the country.
Couples can hold both the ceremony and the reception here. Booking the whole restaurant seats up to 130 guests for dinner, or up to 175 for a standing reception.
For a smaller wedding or a rehearsal dinner, the private rooms set a more intimate scene. The wine rooms on the upper level are surrounded by a showcase of international wines, and the Grand Fireplace on the lower level offers a bright, warm corner for up to 30 guests.
The kitchen is known for steak and seafood, with French technique and seasonal Canadian ingredients, paired with an award winning wine list. Wedding menus can include passed canapés during cocktail hour, food stations, a plated dinner and a late night station.
The wedding package covers the details that make the day easy: linens, candles, glassware, printed personalized menus at every place setting, a complimentary tasting, cake service, a microphone for speeches and on-site coordination on the day.
For couples who picture a candlelit dinner, a remarkable glass of wine and a historic room full of the people they love, Restaurant E18hteen offers a wedding that feels elegant, intimate and unmistakably Ottawa.
