The hotel focuses on smaller parties and occasions. Its two event rooms, the Sackville Room and the Grafton Room, open into one stylish space of about 900 square feet for up to 60 guests.

The rooms were recently renovated, and the team can add catering and modern audio visual technology to suit the celebration.

Guests stay in the hotel's suites, which makes it easy for family travelling in for the wedding to settle in nearby.

For couples who picture an intimate downtown gathering with their closest people, the Residence Inn Halifax Downtown offers a simple, relaxed wedding in the centre of Halifax.
