A wedding at the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park takes place at the very top of Vancouver, with a wall of glass that slides away to let the garden become part of the ceremony.
Queen Elizabeth Park sits 125 metres above sea level, the highest point in the city, and its 52 hectares are known for floral displays, a landscaped quarry garden, an arboretum of native and exotic trees, and wide views over the city to the North Shore mountains.
The pavilion stands in the heart of the park. Its retractable glass wall opens onto a patio and garden area, so vows are framed by greenery whether guests sit inside or the doors are thrown open to the air.
For ceremonies, the room seats up to 100 guests in rows. Indoor receptions host up to 48 seated guests or 65 for a standing cocktail gathering. A ceremony booking reserves the pavilion exclusively for two hours, and a reception booking for five.
The standard ceremony setup includes 80 silver chiavari chairs on either side of a carpeted aisle, a choice of red or black aisle runner, silk florals in red and green or blush, lavender and white, a linen covered signing table and a sound system. A wedding suite and private washroom are available during the booking.
Photos can be taken inside the pavilion and throughout the park during the rental time. A complimentary one-hour rehearsal can be arranged on weekday daytimes when available. The building is wheelchair accessible, with radiant heated floors for cooler months.
