There is something about restored heritage buildings and old trees that makes a wedding feel rooted in time, as though the day has joined a much longer story.
Pickering Museum Village sits in the historic hamlet of Greenwood, where restored 19th-century buildings, forest and the gentle flow of Duffins Creek create a setting with classic, country, garden and vintage character all at once.
For ceremonies, the Bible Christian Chapel offers pew seating for up to approximately 80 guests in an intimate, historic space. Outdoors, Millpond Meadow provides an open-air setting surrounded by nature for vows, receptions or photographs.
The Odd Fellows Hall is a rustic indoor space for a ceremony, cocktail hour or sit-down reception, seating around 80 guests or about 120 standing, and it is available year-round. The covered Picnic Shelter seats up to approximately 108 at picnic tables for relaxed al fresco dining, while Redman House, a charming vintage white house with a full kitchen, supports catering and food service.
Couples planning something small can choose the Micro-Wedding Package for up to 25 guests, which brings together an 8-hour rental, a ceremony location, an arbour, a cocktail space with a 1920s cocktail station and a reception space. The Forever Us Ceremony Package welcomes up to approximately 80 guests for a 3-hour ceremony with photos on the grounds.
The village grounds are also available for wedding photographs throughout the year, so couples can return for portraits among the heritage buildings in any season.
Couples are free to bring their own caterers, photographers and other vendors, and free onsite parking is available for guests. For larger receptions, the new Dorsay Community and Heritage Centre sits right next to the museum.
For couples who picture a wedding with pews, meadows, heritage halls and a sense of history in every corner, Pickering Museum Village offers a celebration that feels timeless in the truest sense.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
