Peterborough Lions Community Centre

At the Peterborough Lions Community Centre, a wedding can begin with vows in a pretty courtyard and carry on to a lively dinner and dance in a park-like setting.

Run by the Peterborough Lions Club, the community centre has five rooms and a courtyard, and it welcomes everything from weddings and receptions to Jack and Jills and banquets.

The courtyard is the spot for an outdoor ceremony, with a covered deck alongside it.

Receptions take place in the Swanston Room, the main hall, which seats up to 120 guests. It has a large dance floor, adjustable lighting, climate control and facilities for a DJ or band. Smaller rooms include the Sisson Room for about 50 and the Lion's Den for 40 to 50.

Couples rent the space and plan the rest their own way, bringing their own decorations, music and catering. The centre is fully licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and can supply wine on request, and the celebration can go on until 1:45 a.m.

The building has been renovated with a wheelchair lift and accessible washrooms, and there are 40 private parking spots plus overflow parking.
