Parksville Museum

There is something quietly moving about exchanging vows in a church built in 1911, with wooden pews, stained glass and heritage buildings all around.

The Parksville Museum, on Island Highway East in Parksville, welcomes weddings, rehearsals and family gatherings on its historic grounds.

At the centre is the Knox Heritage Church, a beautifully preserved 1911 church with warm wooden pews and original stained glass windows. It seats up to 75 guests, is climate controlled and fully wheelchair accessible, and church bells are available on request.

Beside it, the open-air Marion Craig Courtyard offers space for gatherings outdoors, with an estimated capacity of around 200 depending on the area used. Limited chairs, tables and tents are available to rent.

The Heritage Room provides a flexible indoor space for up to 35 guests, suited to smaller gatherings.

Events are largely self-directed. The museum does not offer food or beverage service, so couples are welcome to bring in their own caterer or a food truck, and may bring in planners, photographers and DJs. Liquor events require a Special Event Permit.

The surrounding heritage buildings and courtyard offer lovely photo opportunities before or after the ceremony.
