New Earth Estate

At New Earth Estate, a wedding unfolds on open country land, with a pond, a winding river, forest and rolling hills all within the same 50 acres.

The estate sits in central Grey County, a short way outside Markdale. Since its founding in 2016, it has run year round as a nature retreat and event centre, and it has opened its indoor and outdoor spaces to wedding planners and couples who want to celebrate close to the land.

Down by the river, the Tipi Village gathers seven canvas tipis on raised wooden platforms, each with its own central fire. Picnic tables sit beside the tipis and a large shared bonfire draws everyone together once the sun goes down.

The area is one of the darkest corners of Southern Ontario, so clear nights bring a sky full of stars. Guests can also unwind in a fire heated sauna and hot tub, walk the trails or paddle on the pond.

For overnight stays there is a chalet on the property, and the estate can help arrange other places to stay nearby.

The surrounding countryside gives guests plenty to explore over a wedding weekend: the waterfalls of Grey County, paddling on local waterways, the warm shallow water at Sauble Beach, and the cliffs and caves around Tobermory.
