About
Mill of Kintail Conservation Area

At the Mill of Kintail, couples say their vows on a garden lawn before a historic stone cloister, with fields, forest and the Indian River all around.

This heritage property near Almonte in Mississippi Mills covers 62 hectares, with six kilometres of trails winding through field and forest along the river.

The site is also home to a museum devoted to R. Tait McKenzie and Dr. James Naismith, open in summer, honouring two national historic figures from the area.

The Cloister rental gives couples the lawn and garden in front of the historic cloister for their ceremony, along with the picnic shelter, the grounds for photographs and 100 white folding chairs, for up to 150 guests.

Other spaces include the covered picnic shelter for a casual meal, and the main floor of the historic gatehouse, with a meeting room and kitchen for up to 40.

For couples who picture a ceremony beneath old stone arches with a riverside forest behind them, the Mill of Kintail offers a quiet, storybook Ottawa Valley wedding.
