Hayfields, willow trees and the sound of gentle streams set the tone at Meadow Valley Ranch, a country property made for a romantic outdoor wedding.
Family owned and operated by Milt and Denise Gorman, the ranch sits privately on Fishlake Road in Summerland, near Kelowna and Penticton. Since 2017 it has hosted more than 50 wedding ceremonies, receptions and celebrations, and the property is reserved exclusively for each couple and their guests.
Ceremonies can be held indoors or outdoors. A pergola draped in white sheer curtains stands on the acreage overlooking the hayfields, and wide open fields offer room for vows, receptions or photographs.
Receptions welcome up to approximately 150 people. The 5,000 square foot open-air barn, with high ceilings and chandeliers, is covered for rain or shine and looks out over mountains, hayfields, creeks and ponds.
For smaller to medium-sized weddings, the 2,400 square foot historic barn features a loft with a warm wooden interior and vaulted ceilings.
A bridal suite with two rooms, plenty of mirrors and lights, and a kitchenette gives the wedding party a comfortable place to get ready.
Later, guests can relax beneath the willows, play yard games, gather at the fire pit or visit the petting zoo, home to goats, sheep, mini horses, chickens and ducks. A horse drawn carriage is among the special features.
For couples who picture a rustic-chic country celebration in the Okanagan, Meadow Valley Ranch offers fields, barns and a family welcome that feels wonderfully personal.
