At the Manitou Opera House, a wedding takes place in a restored 1930s theatre with velvet curtains, Arts and Crafts interiors and a proscenium stage.

The building on Main Street in Manitou, in the Pembina Valley, was first built in 1908 and rebuilt in 1930. Today it pairs its period character with modern sound, lighting and accessible features.

The auditorium seats up to 259 guests, with more seating in the balcony, making it a dramatic setting for a ceremony on stage.

Beyond the auditorium, couples can use the green room for getting ready, a dance studio and two kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs, for serving food brought in for the celebration.

Rentals are tailored to each event, and the opera house welcomes weddings alongside concerts and community gatherings.

For couples who picture saying their vows on a historic stage beneath the lights, the Manitou Opera House offers a wedding with small town heritage and a touch of theatre.
