Some weddings feel best with a little open sky around them. At Manderley on the Green, the celebration unfolds in a peaceful rural setting overlooking 200 acres of floral gardens and a 27-hole golf course.
The property sits at 5920 Prince of Wales Drive in North Gower, a short drive south of Barrhaven, which keeps the countryside feeling within easy reach of Ottawa.
Vows can be exchanged outdoors at the ceremony site in the property's gardens, which can accommodate up to approximately 150 guests. Rehearsals at the ceremony site can be scheduled for the day before the wedding.
Receptions take place in the clubhouse, where three large banquet rooms come with spacious dance floors, air conditioning and dimmable pot lighting. The banquet halls can welcome anywhere from about 25 to 250 guests, and two of the rooms adjoin to create a larger L-shaped space.
Manderley's catering managers help plan the details and stay with couples throughout the event, and the kitchen focuses on hearty, generous meals that are presented with care. Linens, chairs with black chair covers, a podium, microphone and speaker system are part of the setup.
Between moments, guests can drift to the lounge with its fireplace, the main bar or the upper and lower patios. A dressing room with two makeup stations and a full-length mirror is available for getting ready, and the groomsmen have a large locker room of their own.
Photographs can be taken at the ceremony site, out on the course among the greenery, ponds, willow trees and rustic fencing, or inside the clubhouse.
Practical details are handled with ease too: parking is complimentary, buses are welcome and cars may stay overnight until 11 am the next morning. Couples are guaranteed access to the room from 7 am on the day of the event to decorate.
For couples who picture gardens, golf course views and a relaxed country celebration close to the city, Manderley on the Green offers a setting where the ceremony, the photographs and the party can all happen in one welcoming place.
