Imagine a wedding where the decor is alive. Cascading ivy, indoor trees and flowers bursting with colour fill the room, and as night falls, tiny lights turn the ceiling into a sky full of stars.
Madison Greenhouse in Newmarket was first built as a greenhouse to grow plants, and it still is one. That gives the venue a tropical feeling in every season and makes it very different from a traditional banquet hall.
Ceremonies can take place on site, with the Ivy Chapel seating guests beneath a transparent ceiling and cascading ivy, and the Grand Foyer offering a backdrop for more intimate vows with the sound of water nearby. After the ceremony, guests can stroll over a wooden bridge into the cocktail lounge.
Dinner and dancing take place in the Fig Leaf Room, beside a tranquil indoor waterfall. Together, the venue can comfortably accommodate around 260 guests.
Outside, a manicured garden with a romantic gazebo at one end provides a lovely frame for photographs, and the indoor-outdoor layout means couples can enjoy the garden without worrying about rain or snow. Other spaces include the Courtyard, the Terrace and two stages.
Only one event takes place at a time, so the entire venue belongs to the wedding. The team has hosted more than 1,000 weddings and works with preferred caterers who serve a range of cultures, with options from hourly rental to reception and ceremony packages.
There is plenty of free parking and the venue is wheelchair accessible. Because the greenhouse cannot be air-conditioned without harming the plants, industrial-sized fans keep the air moving on warm summer days.
For couples who dream of a garden wedding in any season, Madison Greenhouse Event Venue offers a living, glowing setting that feels like a destination celebration within the GTA.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
