A wedding in a small town has a particular warmth. The people you grew up with, the families who know yours, all gathered in one room to celebrate.
The MacKenzie Conference Centre is Drayton Valley's most versatile conference facility, operated by the Town of Drayton Valley. It is set up for weddings, banquets, concerts and other special events, and it gives couples a generous, adaptable space to shape around their own vision.
One of its most practical features is a divider that splits the centre into two sections. Couples can use one half for the ceremony and the other for the reception, keeping the whole day under one roof. Each section has access to the kitchen and portable bars.
The centre can host up to approximately 416 guests in a dining setting and 522 in a lecture setting. For larger celebrations, it can open up to include the Curling Rink Lounge, expanding capacity to around 624 guests for dining and 842 in a lecture setup.
Catering is flexible. Couples can bring in the caterer of their choice or select one of the centre's nine in-house caterers. A full bar service option is available, along with coffee and tea service.
The room itself can be adjusted to suit the day, with adjustable floor plans and lighting, a movable dance floor, modern audio-visual technology and Wi-Fi. An in-house decorator, Close to Home Event Rentals, can help with the look of the space, and set up and take down are part of the services offered.
The team welcomes couples to book a one-on-one walk through to see the space and talk through the plan.
For couples who want room for the whole community and the ease of a ceremony and reception in one place, the MacKenzie Conference Centre offers a flexible and welcoming home for the celebration.
