A downtown wedding has its own kind of energy: city views through tall windows, guests arriving from every direction, and the feeling of celebrating right in the middle of things.
MacEwan University sits in the heart of Edmonton between the Ice District and the Brewery District, and its seven-block campus offers a range of wedding spaces supported by an in-house team of event professionals. Whether a couple envisions a classic wedding or a celebration that incorporates elements of their culture, the team works with them to shape the day.
For larger receptions, Paul Byrne Hall in the Heart of the Robbins holds up to 500 guests, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a downtown city view. The Robbins Atrium welcomes up to 200 with the same bright outlook, while the Feigel Conference Centre suits up to 120 with built-in audio-visual equipment and city views.
Performance spaces add another dimension. The Betty Andrews Recital Hall seats up to 210 and includes use of the main atrium in Allard Hall, and the Triffo Theatre holds up to 415 with dressing rooms and stage technicians.
Outdoors, the Amphitheatre and Front Lawn can host up to 2,000, the Heather Foran Garden offers a partially covered pavilion for up to 1,500, and the kihêw waciston Lawn, with its in-ground firepit and two large tipis, welcomes up to 500. Each outdoor space has back-up indoor space for inclement weather.
Parking, accommodations, technology support and catering are all available on site, so the practical pieces can stay in one place.
For couples who picture a modern, central celebration with room to grow, MacEwan University offers a remarkable variety of spaces and a team that plans hundreds of events every year.
