Some views make a room feel bigger than it is. At Lowville Golf Club, the windows open onto the Niagara Escarpment, with Mount Nemo and Rattlesnake Point filling the horizon.
Located in north Burlington, Lowville is a locally owned golf club that has been welcoming guests since 1973. The course was designed by golf course architect Dick Kirkpatrick, and the modern clubhouse, designed by architect Cynthia Zahoruk, was created to capture the history and natural vistas of Lowville.
Two dining rooms give gatherings flexibility. The Mt Nemo Room is an open-concept space with views of Mount Nemo, the escarpment and the course, and holds up to 48 guests, making it a natural fit for receptions and smaller celebrations.
The Rattlesnake Room looks out toward Rattlesnake Point and opens onto a wrap-around patio with tables and chairs. It accommodates 72 guests on its own.
Together, the two rooms can welcome up to 120 guests, and the club notes that its clubhouse can accommodate banquets of up to 150 people while still keeping a cozy, comfortable feel for smaller groups.
The club's chef caters functions in the clubhouse, and the team can prepare a quote tailored to each event.
The Earl Pub adds a warm, casual corner with a fireplace, and the patio offers another place to gather and enjoy the scenery in the fresh air.
The course changes with the seasons, lush green through spring and summer and full of colour in the fall, so the view outside the windows is part of the experience at any time of year.
For couples who picture an intimate reception with escarpment views and a friendly, locally run team, Lowville Golf Club offers a setting where the landscape does much of the decorating.
