Lord Elgin Hotel

A wedding at the Lord Elgin Hotel carries the romance of Ottawa itself, in a stone landmark with a steep copper roof just steps from the Rideau Canal and Confederation Park.

For more than 85 years this locally owned boutique hotel has welcomed guests in the heart of the capital, close to the gates of Parliament Hill and the National Arts Centre. Its recently renewed lobby pairs brass accents and soft layered lighting with the building's historic character.

The Pearson Ballroom is filled with sunshine and hosts up to 110 guests with a dance floor, making it the hotel's main room for receptions.

The Trillium Room and its private Trillium Patio opened in June 2024, with crown moulding, striking light fixtures and an arched doorway. The space is ideal for small weddings and intimate receptions.

Another newly renovated room is made for weddings of up to 70, with a dark, romantic look, warm gold accents and glowing chandeliers.

The hotel has a dedicated wedding sales manager and an events and catering team, and offers its own catering menus, including an Indigenous inspired menu, along with menu tastings. Guests can stay right upstairs, and the hotel restaurant has an inviting outdoor patio.
