There is something quietly romantic about a stone clubhouse looking out over open fairways, water and distant hills.
Loch March Golf Club, in the Ottawa area, pairs a stone and Tudor-style clubhouse with around 300 acres of golf course, spring-fed lakes and views toward the Gatineau Hills.
The banquet room has large windows on both sides, framing the golf course and the Gatineau Hills, and two awning-covered balconies wrap around the room. Patio furniture is available there, making the balconies a natural place for cocktail hour.
The reception room accommodates up to approximately 175 guests for a seated dinner and around 200 for a reception only. A permanent dance floor, podium and microphone are already in place.
Ceremonies can happen on site in two ways. An indoor ceremony can welcome up to approximately 100 guests plus the wedding party, with chairs and a signing table set up, while the outdoor ceremony site is a manicured spot on the grounds, with white folding chairs available to rent and tenting arranged through a third party.
Every banquet is catered by the club's own team, with hors d'oeuvres, food stations, plated dinners and buffets on the wedding menu. An on-site food and beverage manager helps with event questions, and a professional serving and bartending team looks after guests through the evening.
The practical details are considered too: a private entrance for the ceremony and reception areas, table linens and napkins, complimentary cake cutting, room setup for the gift, cake, DJ, guest and head tables, and ample free parking.
Between moments, the grounds offer plenty of places for photographs, and guests might drift out to the balcony to watch the light change over the course.
For couples who picture a golf course wedding with lake and hill views, a ceremony and reception in one place and a team that handles the catering from start to finish, Loch March Golf & Country Club offers a setting that feels both classic and relaxed.
