Lizard Creek Lodge

At Lizard Creek Lodge, a wedding can start with a chairlift ride and end with dinner beneath the peaks of the Canadian Rockies.

The lodge sits at the foot of the slopes at Fernie Alpine Resort as the mountain's sole full-service property, with fresh alpine air and the Lizard Range rising behind it.

Couples choose between two outdoor ceremony spots. Reached by the Elk Chairlift, Elk Top's Kodiak Deck looks out over the Elk Valley, while the Lizard Creek Lodge Lawn keeps the ceremony close to home with the Lizard Range as a backdrop.

Receptions take place in the Cirque Restaurant and Bar, where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the mountains. The room seats up to 120 guests for dinner and dancing, and the kitchen builds a locally inspired menu around each celebration.

Forest trails and mountain views around the grounds make easy photo spots, and chairlift access to the Kodiak Deck is arranged for the wedding party and guests.

Guests can stay steps from the celebration in condo-style suites, from studios to three bedrooms, each with a full kitchen, a fireplace and a private balcony. Outdoor pools, hot tubs and the Névé Spa round out the weekend.

Weddings run best from June through October, with summer days for hiking, mountain biking and scenic lift rides, and downtown Fernie about ten minutes away.
