Water has a way of slowing everything down. At Lily Lake, the surface catches the light, the park stretches out in every direction, and the city suddenly feels much further away than it really is.
Lily's Lakeside Casual Dining sits on the lakeside level of the Lily Lake Pavilion, on the shores of Lily Lake at the entrance to Rockwood Park in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Rockwood Park covers about 2,200 acres and is the second largest urban park in Canada. It was designed by Calvert Vaux, who, with his partner Frederick Olmsted, designed New York's Central Park.
Weddings at the Pavilion are planned with the events team, and the facility features an air-conditioned, licensed banquet space overlooking the lake and surrounded by the natural beauty of the park.
Couples work with a professional Event Manager to shape the details, and an on-site event coordinator is there on the day to carry them out.
Food is prepared from scratch by the Pavilion's culinary team, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients.
The Pavilion has free parking and is within about 10 minutes of the city's major hotels, making it easy for guests travelling from out of town.
There is also a lovely story behind the building. The Pavilion is operated by a registered charity, and all funds from its operations and fundraisers go back to the community.
For couples who picture a lakeside celebration surrounded by trees and trails, with a team that cooks from scratch and cares about its community, the Lily Lake Pavilion offers a Saint John wedding with a sense of place.
