About
Le Pays de la Sagouine

At Le Pays de la Sagouine, a wedding can end with the sun setting over Bouctouche Bay, music in the air and a lively Acadian welcome.

This cultural village in Bouctouche was born from the imagination of Acadian writer Antonine Maillet, a winner of the Prix Goncourt. Since opening in 1992 it has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors with its colourful characters, theatre, songs and traditions.

Couples can celebrate on the terrace, which looks out over Bouctouche Bay and is known for its sunsets, or in the Restaurant-Théâtre for a warm indoor reception.

The village is set between the land and L'Île-aux-Puces, so photos can take in the water and the small island that the characters call home.

Acadian food is part of the experience here, from chicken fricot to lobster rolls served on the terrace in season, and the venue is booking weddings for the coming years.

For couples who want their families to taste, sing and dance the Acadian way, Le Pays de la Sagouine offers a joyful wedding by the bay with a story behind it.
