A wedding at Lang Lake Resort means saying your vows beside the water in the La Cloche Mountains, with the whole lakeside property to yourselves and your people.
The resort sits near Espanola, between Sudbury and Little Current, on a chain of seven connected lakes that runs about 18 miles with more than 100 miles of shoreline. It has welcomed guests to this rugged corner of Northern Ontario for over 50 years.
Because it is a small resort, couples can reserve the entire property, so there are no other vacationers around on the big day. Ceremonies can take place on the ceremony deck or at one of several spots looking out over the lake.
Receptions gather on the waterfront deck, with an enclosed tent available as an option, and at the Cabana with its bar area. The Southview Suite has a modern outdoor kitchen, plus a hot tub and sauna in the summer season, and works well as a place for the wedding party to get ready and unwind.
Up to 50 guests can stay overnight across seven cottages and three suites, each with a full kitchen and deck, and most with a private dock. More places to stay can be found in nearby Espanola for larger groups.
Canoes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards are free for guests to use, and power boats, pontoons and ATVs can be rented. Hiking and ATV trails, fishing and swimming in the clear lake fill the days around the celebration, and Killarney Provincial Park and Manitoulin Island are within reach.
For couples who picture a small gathering of family and friends on the dock at sunset, a weekend of paddling and campfires, Lang Lake Resort offers an intimate northern wedding that feels like a private lakeside retreat.
