Lady Macdonald

The inn takes its name from Lady Agnes Macdonald, who crossed the Rockies by rail with Sir John A. Macdonald and famously rode on the cow catcher at the front of the train to take in the mountain scenery. Mount Lady Macdonald, named for the family, still forms the backdrop to the property today.
