At La Lune in St. Pierre Jolys, a wedding can end just the way the name suggests, with everyone dancing outdoors under the moon and stars.
Dianne and Jaime bought the property in 1997. In 2014 the original barn was reworked for their daughter's wedding, and after a simple online question about whether people would marry there, La Lune opened for its first official season in 2015. It remains a family-run venue, built with help from relatives, and every couple is welcome.
The grounds are full of whimsical touches, from lush, manicured lawns to a signature moon that has become a favourite photo spot. Couples can choose among several outdoor ceremony sites, or say their vows inside the barn against its wood panelling.
The reception hall is a large renovated barn with chandeliers, lighting included in every booking, plenty of natural light, a stage for a head table or band, and an indoor bar.
For cocktail hour, guests gather on the outdoor bar patio around a fire pit, with cornhole and s'mores on hand. Later, the outdoor dance floor keeps the party going beneath the night sky.
The wedding party can get ready in the Ivy Cottage, which also offers a quiet spot to rest during the day.
All-inclusive wedding packages cover set-up and take-down, table linens, dishes, table decor and catering, and the owner and manager are both certified event planners.
For couples who picture a country celebration with fire pit glow, a chandelier-lit barn and dancing under the stars, La Lune offers a wedding that feels relaxed, personal and a little bit magical.
