Near the place where the Thompson and Fraser Rivers meet, the land opens into wild grasses, sage brush, ponderosa pine and rugged canyons beneath wide blue skies.

Kumsheen Rafting Resort sits on the Trans-Canada Highway about 5 kilometres from the village of Lytton, roughly 255 kilometres northeast of Vancouver. Its name comes from the Nlaka'pamux word for the place where two great rivers meet.

Weddings here begin at an outdoor ceremony site overlooking the Thompson River, a setting that suits both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.

An in-house wedding coordinator works with each couple, and the resort team can take care of catering, bar service, décor and entertainment.

Guests do not have to leave at the end of the night. Accommodations range from camping sites to canvas cabins, so family and friends can rest close by after dancing under the stars.
