About
Huble Homestead Historic Site

Some places carry their stories quietly. At Huble Homestead Historic Site, heritage buildings and open countryside along the banks of the Fraser River set a gentle, unhurried tone for a wedding day.

The site is located 40 kilometres north of Prince George on traditional Lheidli T'enneh keyoh, and is cared for by the Huble Homestead/Giscome Portage Heritage Society as a turn of the century heritage attraction.

The homestead is described as ideal for wedding ceremonies, photos and afternoon receptions. Every wedding rental begins with a ceremony rental, and couples can then customize their booking to include a reception and a catered meal.

The suggested capacity is 90 guests, with an absolute maximum of 100 including children and the wedding party. Banquet seating accommodates up to 75 guests, which suits a close circle of family and friends.

Outdoor bookings also reserve one indoor space in case the weather turns, so the day can carry on comfortably under cover.

Because this is a historic site and public park, there are some thoughtful considerations. Alcohol is not permitted, open flame is not allowed, and flower petals take the place of confetti or rice. The site closes at 5:00 PM, which makes it a natural fit for daytime celebrations.

Pricing, catering options and site rules are gathered in the homestead's Rental and Catering Information Package, and the team welcomes inquiries through its online rental form.

For couples who picture an afternoon wedding surrounded by history and river country, Huble Homestead Historic Site offers a setting that feels genuinely rooted in the story of the North.
