Some weddings are shaped by a single room. At Horseshoe Valley Resort, they are shaped by the whole valley.
The resort sits on Horseshoe Valley Road West near Barrie, about an hour north of the Greater Toronto Area with direct access off Highway 400. It is a four-season destination, and weddings are hosted here through the spring, summer and fall.
Couples can hold their ceremony at the resort's hilltop ceremony location, overlooking valley views, or choose something quieter in the Ellsmere Chapel for a more intimate gathering.
For receptions, the Alpine Room is the largest function room, with the resort's venue chart listing it at up to approximately 220 guests for a banquet and around 260 for a reception. The Valley View Tent offers another setting, and across the property there are 10 meeting rooms and 3 banquet halls for gatherings of many sizes.
The resort offers a range of wedding packages, from a Classic Reception to a Grand Gala, with inclusions such as an onsite venue coordinator, a complimentary ceremony rehearsal, passed hors d'oeuvres, a three-course plated meal or buffet dinner and house wine with dinner. Couples can also build an à la carte celebration around the elements they love most.
For smaller weddings, a micro wedding package brings together the Ellsmere Chapel, a licensed officiant, live ceremony music, flowers, a photography session and a night in a Loft Suite, for groups of 2 to 20 with room to add guests up to 50 in total.
Then there is the chance for everyone to stay. With 100 hotel-style guestrooms and suites plus 40 two-bedroom condo suites, and special accommodation rates for wedding guests, family and friends can wake up in the valley the next morning.
Between celebrations, guests might wander toward the resort's other offerings, from the Vettä Nordic Spa to golf, biking trails and the valley itself.
For couples who picture a hilltop ceremony, a full resort weekend and everyone gathered in one place, Horseshoe Valley Resort offers a celebration with the whole valley as its backdrop.
