Highland Lodge

At Highland Lodge, a wedding unfolds around a barn that has stood on this prairie hilltop for close to a century, with nothing but open sky and fields in every direction.

This family-owned acreage sits a few minutes southwest of Outlook, about twenty minutes from the beaches of Lake Diefenbaker and roughly an hour from Saskatoon. The land lies in the heart of the central migration flyway, so the skies here are busy with birds in spring and fall.

The old barn is the heart of every celebration. Its loft and its covered spaces inside and out mean a ceremony and reception can carry on whatever the weather does, and the wedding package welcomes up to 125 guests.

Couples book the property for a full three days and two nights. That stay includes the barn loft, the lodge and the cabin, two RV sites, the decks, a barbecue and smoker, the fire pit and a playground for younger guests.

Up to 16 people can sleep on site. The four-season lodge has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the vintage cabin has timbered log walls and high ceilings that feel straight out of another era.

Between the festivities there is room to wander, toss horseshoes, gather around the fire or head down to the lake for the afternoon.
