Overlooking the ocean in the dappled shade of stately maple trees, the Heriot Bay Inn has been welcoming guests on Quadra Island since 1896.
This historic island inn hosts both wedding ceremonies and receptions, with a warm stone fireplace, a hand-carved lounge bar and scenic views from the patio setting the tone.
There are three licensed rooms for receptions. The Fireside Lounge, with its stone fireplace and hand-carved bar, suits intimate gatherings and comes with a personal bartender. Herons Dining Room and its outside deck, with warm wood and views of Heriot Bay, work well for receptions, private dining and dancing. The Bay View Room and its walk-out patio are lovely for smaller receptions and cocktails.
Catering is provided by the inn, with menus featuring west coast seafood and other specialties served buffet style or plated. The kitchen also welcomes creating a unique menu with couples.
Wedding packages include an event coordinator to help plan the day from start to finish, staff for guest service and a customized floor plan.
The inn is open year-round, and wedding groups can rent the whole hotel: ten rooms, a two-storey suite and three ocean-view cabins. There is also an oceanfront RV park and campground and a full-service marina on the property.
Family can arrive by ferry, settle into the cabins and spend a few unhurried days on the island together.
