Few wedding weekends end with a soak in mineral hot springs beneath the mountains, but at Halcyon Hot Springs Resort that is simply part of the stay.
The resort sits on the rocky shores of Upper Arrow Lake, on Highway 23 North near Nakusp in the Kootenays, and is home to Lithia-rich hot spring waters. General Frederick Burnham, who owned the Halcyon Sanitarium until 1955, believed these waters should be shared with the world.
For ceremonies, an outdoor site is available for rental throughout the summer months. Surrounded by forest with Mount Burnham rising behind it, it serves as a backdrop for vows, photos and an outdoor cocktail reception.
The resort's historic chapel sits beside a meandering creek and offers a blank canvas for a small, intimate ceremony.
Private events can also make use of the Multipurpose Room and the Private Dining Room. The Private Dining Room has large windows, French doors and a private patio overlooking Arrow Lake and the mountains, with seating for up to 16 guests.
Guests can stay in cabins, cottages and loft chalets set among the trees, all within walking distance of the hot springs and front lobby. The Chanterelle Restaurant, a poolside café and a spa are on site.
Between celebrations there is paddleboarding, yoga, hiking and time in the pools, turning a wedding into a restorative few days together.
For couples who picture an intimate wilderness wedding followed by an evening in the hot springs, Halcyon Hot Springs Resort offers a lakeside celebration shaped by forest, mountains and healing water.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
