Some venues are built by companies. Gizio began with a community.
Gizio Recreation & Banquet Centre started as a social club for Italian Canadians from Pettorano sul Gizio, a town in Abruzzo. A banquet hall was added to the original house in the early nineties, and the property was acquired to preserve the traditions, food and customs of that much-loved hometown.
The 25-acre property sits in a quiet corner of the Ontario Greenbelt countryside on the Grimsby Mountain, giving couples open country space for photographs throughout the day.
Ceremonies can take place right on site. In the summer months, couples have access to the gazebo and wooden country benches.
The hall seats approximately 160 guests comfortably for a sit-down meal. Two event spaces can be used on their own or together, and for meetings and corporate events the centre welcomes groups from around 10 up to 200.
Food is at the heart of every celebration here. The Executive Chef and culinary team create wedding menus that can be traditional, modern Italian or a fusion of styles, with options for sit-down dinners, buffets, canapés and an antipasto bar. Wedding packages include fine china, flatware and stemware, white table linens and chair covers, and a late-night buffet.
There is a secure bridal room on site, free parking, and an event planner who can help with sound, cake cutting and décor details. A temperance bar is also available with wedding packages for couples who prefer an alcohol-free celebration.
For couples who picture a warm, family-style wedding with Italian hospitality and a countryside setting, Gizio Recreation & Banquet Centre offers a celebration shaped by community and tradition.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
