At GEORGE Restaurant, a wedding begins as guests pass through wrought iron doors into a dining room of exposed red brick, and on summer evenings it can move to a garden courtyard glowing with twinkling lights.
The restaurant sits in a restored chocolate factory from the 1850s in the heart of downtown Toronto. It has been recommended by the Michelin Guide four times and is known for refined seasonal tasting menus.
In the warmer months, the courtyard becomes a romantic setting for a ceremony or cocktail reception, surrounded by lush greenery. It holds up to 120 for a ceremony, with 85 seated, and up to 100 for cocktails. The front of the restaurant suits smaller ceremonies of up to 50.
For dinner, a full restaurant buyout seats 110, or up to 120 with booths, and hosts up to 150 for cocktails. Smaller weddings can choose the Grand Georgian for 64 seated guests, Georgian One or Georgian Two, the Terrace Wing, or the Eliot Room for 10. Rooms can be combined or kept separate.
Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto and his team create a menu from fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, prepared in a dedicated part of the open kitchen, and the sommelier helps pair wines from an eclectic list.
A spa in the same building can help the wedding party get ready, and contemporary artwork on the brick walls makes a striking backdrop for photos.
For couples who picture brick, art and a courtyard under the lights, followed by a dinner worthy of a celebrated kitchen, GEORGE offers an intimate wedding in the heart of the city.
